Carloforte, on the Island of San Pietro, is a small antique fishing village in the "Ligurian" style. It is in the south west of Sardinia, elegant and much admired by nature lovers and those who are looking for a free and relaxing holiday.
Carloforte is right on the sea, its characteristic buildings are situated around a well-known tourist port, where in the evening, people like to meet, in its spacious and pretty corners, attracted by the numerous things to do, which are organised especially for the summer season.
Characteristic is the fact that, even today, the decendents of the antique Ligurian community still profess their age-old dialect and folklore.
The holiday houses: situated in the no-traffic zone of the village are located in typical Ligurian style buildings in the town centre. The buildings are, usually independent or semi-detached, the majority of which have access from the ground floor and open spaces at the back or are on the first floor with a balcony.
Sealinks between Sardinia and Carloforte: Carloforte's small port is directly in front of the main square, daily sealinks for Porto Scuso and Calasetta (30 minutes by sea) every hour; there is also a nightly sealink with Calasetta which guarantees constant service.
