Cala Santa Maria è a beautiful beach which is located on the southern coast of the island, part of the archipelago of La Maddalena. A beautiful beach of soft white sand and transparent waters and very fine reflected on, still pristine and, due to their shallow and Sandy, gently sloping down to the deep, form a beautiful natural swimming pool. With its 200 meters long, is the largest of the entire archipelago. Set in an enchanting bay surrounded by Pink rocks is adorned with lush vegetation that perfumes the air with its aromas.
Behind the Bay lies a tiny Lake of brackish water – the Swamp – frequented by numerous species of water birds like Woodcock, hens, mallards and more

  • Not far from Cala Santa Maria lie the ruins of the Benedictine monastery built by the monks, the first settlers of the archipelago in the 13th century and today incorporated in the home of shepherd who lives and works in this island. Following a beautiful panorama trail you reach the Punta Filetto from where you can enjoy an extraordinary view on some small islands of the archipelago.
  • The island of Santa Maria, part of the archipelago of La Maddalena. It is located north east of the island of Budelli and is separated from the island of Rabi (East) by a narrow Strait called "Passo degli Asinelli" deep about 50 cm.
  • The island of Santa Maria differs from the other islands of the archipelago for the plain. Its coastline is very rugged and is the only homes that are concentrated in and around cala Santa Maria and along the coast overlooking La Maddalena
